FBC Carthage E-News
November 29, 2021
We began the Advent Season
yesterday with the Christmas Theme: “Sing
to the King.” As we prepare for the many
events and activities of Christmas, let us also prepare our hearts to celebrate
this most important event in human history.
Embrace the season as the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Focus on the meaning this season has for
you. Involve your family in the special
services that exalt Jesus. Prepare a
special gift in honor of Jesus’ birth.

Christmas season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biLCWOXgI2Q
A new resource we offer is
a playlist on Youtube of the worship music we are using in the services each
week. Use this resource as an aid in
your daily time of worship, Bible reading, and prayer. Christmas is a season of singing. The playlist is at fbcarthage which you can
access at : https://www.youtube.com/user/fbcarthage
Speaking of singing, a
special thank you to all who came out for the Christmas Parade, coffee and
cocoa, and singing on the steps.
This weekend we will have
a mission team in New York City for the Coats for the City outreach with Bridge
Community Church. Please pray for safety
in travel, freedom from sickness, and openness of the people to the
Gospel.
Wednesday night meal and services will resume
this week. The meal begins at 5:00 PM
and the service at 6:30 PM.
Lighthouse Camp Christmas
Parties will be December 4 and 11 at Lighthouse Christian Camp, 205 Serenity
Place, Smithville, Tennessee. All types
of items are being collected for the children to select and give to their
families for Christmas. To volunteer,
simply go to Lighthouse Camp either or both weeks and be there around 8:30
AM. The activities are in the Gym.
This week is the Week of
Prayer for International Missions. Here is
the Week of Prayer Guide and the resource videos. Take a moment each day to pray for our
missionaries serving around the world. https://www.imb.org/pray/week-of-prayer/
Lottie Moon Offering for
International Missions is our yearly missions offering for the Southern Baptist
Missionaries around the world. This is
our largest special offering for the year and reflects the great importance of
our missionary efforts. This year’s goal
is $19,000. Everyone is asked to give a
generous offering for world missions and then the church will give the entire
offering on Christmas Sunday, December 19.
Thank you to everyone who packed an Operation
Christmas Child box, helped with the collection, or helped with transport. We had 244 boxes from FBC Carthage and
collected a total of 704 boxes from our area.
Continue to pray for the outreach of these boxes to the 704 children in
the world who will receive them.
Next Monday, December 6 will be the Women on
Missions meeting at 6;30 PM at the home of Marreet Hutchins, 649 Carmack
Avenue.
