FBC Carthage ENews for October 25, 2021

FBC Carthage E-News

October 25, 2021

Good Morning,

Thank you to Paul Stouder for preaching both services yesterday.  It was a blessing to listen in and be blessed by the messages.  I encourage you to watch the services on Facebook or Youtube if you happened to miss.  The Sunday Morning Service began a new series entitled “A Life of Thanksgiving” as Paul shared on the importance of singing.  It will bless you as you listen.

This Wednesday, October 27 at 5:30 PM is our Trunk or Treat event on Fite Avenue and inside the Christian Life Center.  Vehicles will be lined up on Fite Avenue handing out candy.  Food and inflatables will be inside the Christian Life Center.   The theme is “Truths from the Bible:  Tis so Sweet.”  Help spread the word!  Invite family, friends, and neighbors for this delightful evening together.  Everyone is invited and urged to attend.  This is a great opportunity to meet and greet the people in our community.

The Women on Mission will meet on Monday, October 25 at Hickman Baptist Church for the Quarterly Meeting with the churches from the Association.  The program begins at 6:00 PM.

The Mission Team to Guatemala will be sharing.  The ladies will gather in the church parking lot and leave at 5:30 PM.

We are planning to have a community ministry tent outside the Sanctuary on Sunday, October 31 to hand our water, candy, and greet those trick or treating in Downtown Carthage.  If you can help in this ministry, simply come to the front of the church and join in.  This ministry effort will be instead of the evening worship service.

The New Salem Association is offering Disaster Relief Training on Saturday, October 30 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  This training is to prepare us to go and serve during times of disasters, whether flood, tornado, hurricanes, etc.  The training will be at the Brush Creek Baptist Church.  The training will give an overview of Diaster Relief and specific training in “Chainsaw Operation and Safety” and “Flood Recovery.”  We will plan to leave from the church parking lot at 7:45 AM if you would like to ride together.  The cost for the credentials is $36.  For more information, contact Bro. Tim or Bro. Marty Dodge, our Associational Director of Missions.  You can register online for this training at: https://tndiasterrelief.org/registration-forms

Bring your extra winter coats for our coat drive for New York City.  We will have a team travel for the annual “Coats for the City” distribution on December 3-5.  We will be working with the Bridge Community Church.  You can drop your coats off at the Connection Point behind the Sanctuary.  If you are interested in being a part of the team or helping sponsor a team member please contact Bro. Tim.

The Annual Pregnancy Help Center Fundraising Banquet will be on Thursday, October 28 at 6:00 PM the Ag Center.  We received a special offering for this ministry at the end of the service yesterday.  If you would like to give a special gift for their fundraising effort text the word “Life” to (615) 492-8661.

The daily Bible reading booklets for November are available in the Connection Point and front foyer.  You can also find them online and as a daily e-mail to your Inbox at:  https://www.crosswalk.com/devotionals/biblepathways/

The RightNow Media video series of the week is “Talking to Your Kids about Jesus.”   Homes where deep and meaningful faith conversations happen regularly aren’t the product of lucky parents. They’re the product of intentional parents who believe nothing is more important than raising kids to know and love Jesus. In this six-session series, author Natasha Crain offers parents tools and encouragement for creating low-grade, consistent efforts to clarify who Jesus is, why he matters, and how kids can live impacted by their faith in him.   https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/493404?episode=Trailer
