Good Morning,
As we begin a new church
year, it is a joy to officially welcome Paul Stouder as our Associate
Pastor. He began his ministry with us on
October 1 and led worship in both the morning and evening services
yesterday. In these first weeks of his
ministry, get to know Paul and Maura and baby Cadi. Pray for them as they get settled in to life
in Carthage. Ask the Lord to give a
renewed vision to Paul and I as we look forward to all the Lord has planned in
the future. This truly is a new day, a
new month, and a new year for each of us.
Be sure and introduce yourself to Paul and Maura each time you meet them
for the next few weeks. It is
overwhelming to move into a new ministry filled with new people and put
together names and faces. Let’s do all
we can to make them feel welcome, cared for, and greatly needed.
We will have a meeting of
all those interested in the mission trip to New York City this Sunday, October
10 at 11:00 AM, immediately after the morning service. We will discuss flights, lodging, costs, and
schedules for the mission project on December 3-5. We are gathering coats for distribution in
the annual Coats for the City, Coat Distribution in the Connection Point. If you are interested in being a part of the
team traveling to New York for this event, please contact Bro. Tim or be at the
meeting on Sunday after the morning service.
The October Business
Meeting will be this Wednesday, October 6 at 6:30 PM following the Bible Study time. In addition to monthly reports, the Budget
and Finance Committee will present the 2021-2022 Church Budget for approval.
Plans are being made for
the 2021 Trunk or Treat to be help Wednesday, October 27 from 5:00-7:30
PM. We will have inflatables, food, and
a lot of candy. The theme for this
year’s Trunk ot Treat is “Truths from the Bible: Tis so Sweet.” The goal is to have many more cars decorated
and handing out candy. Everyone is asked
to bring individually wrapped candies for this great event and place it in
collection bins in the Connection Point.
FBC Carthage has sponsored a table at the Annual
Pregnancy Help Center Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, October 28 at the Ag
Center. We have six seats still available. If you are interested in this ministry,
contact Bro. Tim or the church Office to reserve your seat.
