FBC Carthage E-News
September 20, 2021
Good Morning,
Thank you for the many
birthday wishes and cards. I appreciate
your prayers and thoughts. A birthdays is
a good opportunity to thank the Lord for His many blessings and re-commit our
lives to Him for as long as He gives us breath.
The older I get the more I realize the importance of every day and never
to take life for granted. Let’s commit to
live our lives for the glory, praise, and service of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul and Maura Stouder will
be packing this week and soon headed to Tennessee. The plans are for Paul and his father-in-law
to leave on September 24, and arrive on September 28. His first day as Associate Pastor will be
October 1. In anticipation of their
move, the Women on Missions group is organizing an old fashioned pounding of non-perishable
foods, cleaning supplies, and paper products.
Bring items for Paul and Maura this Sunday, September 26 as we
anticipate their arrival.
A new semester of
GriefShare is underway on Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM in the Christian Life
Center. There is no cost for these grief
support group sessions and a workbook is provided. If you or someone you know is struggling in
the death of a loved one, come and be a part of this grief-support group. Grief is a difficult journey, but you don’t
have to walk alone. GriefShare is a
joint ministry of First Baptist Church Carthage, Bass Funeral Home, and
Sanderson Funeral Home. For more
information, contact Bro. Tim at (615) 735-1929.
We will host the
Inflatables for the William Walton Days community event in Downtown Carthage this
Saturday, September 25. Set-up will be
at 9:00 AM. We have 10:00-12 Noon
covered and still need volunteers from 12 noon to 6:00 PM. If you are able to help during this time
contact Bro. Tim.
We are planning to be
apart of the Coats for the City, Coat Distribution mission trip to New York
City on December 3-5. We will be
collecting coats in the Connection Point and then going to NYC for the
distribution. If you are interested in
this project please contact Bro. Tim.
During September we will
be emphasizing Tennessee Missions through the Tennessee Baptist Mission
Board. We will also be collecting the
Golden State Mission Offering. Here is the
message we heard from Dr. Randy Davis, Executive Director of the Mission Board: https://vimeo.com/574492853
Plans are being made for
the 2021 Trunk or Treat to be help Wednesday, October 27 from 5:00-7:30
