FBC Carthage E-News
May 24, 2021
Good Morning,
It was great to be back together in one morning
worship service yesterday. It has been
almost one full year since we went to two services to provide additional space
to social distance during the COVID pandemic.
Thank you for your extreme flexibility as we have made numerous
adjustments in times and configurations of services through this past year. An extra special “Thank You” to the worship,
media, and leadership teams as they have worked extra hours and given great
leadership.
This Sunday, May 30 will be another “first.” We will observe the Lord’s Supper in the
10:00 AM morning service and pass the elements as we traditionally have done in
the past.
This Sunday afternoon, May 30, we will have a church-wide
Community Block Party and Cookout from 5:30-7:00 PM in the parking lot across
Main Street from the church. We will
have inflatables, cotton candy, sno-cones, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and
drinks for the whole family. Invite your
family, friends, and neighbors to stop by and join in the festivities. We will also have information and registration
forms for Vacation Bible School. Let’s
kick-off a great service of outreach and fellowship with this Community Block
Party and Cookout. Rain plans will be to
move the event into the Christian Life Center.
Attention Youth: A special Youth event will be this Sunday,
May 30. Meet at 5:30 PM at the Block
Party for supper and then on to Lebanon for Bowling. Invite your friends to join you for this
special event. Parents are welcome to
join in the fun as well.
Vacation Bible School is
just two weeks away, June 7-11. Please
make your plans to bring your children and invite their friends for this
important week. There are also opportunities
for you to serve in VBS as we share the gospel with children and youth in our
community. See Jan Trainham or Tina
Gantenbein for more information.
This is the final week of lessons on the Tennessee
Baptist Mission Board Sunday School Lesson Showcase: https://vimeo.com/showcase/7973849 It has been a
blessing during the pandemic to have the opportunity to share with Tennessee
Baptists across our state through these video lessons. It is exciting to hear that the vast majority
of Sunday School classes are meeting in-person again.

The RightNow Media video
series of the week is “Billy Graham: A
Life Remembered.” In preparation of our Memorial Sunday
message, take a delightful 30-minute journey remembering the life, ministry,
and legacy of Billy Graham. Beginning
with a simple expression of faith at age fifteen....and speaking around the
world with clarity and conviction, Billy Graham's ministry has delivered the
message of hope in Jesus Christ throughout the world for over 80 years. Now
that ministry lives on as many lives continue to be changed by Jesus Christ.
Trace Billy Graham's unexpected journey from a North Carolina farm to the
largest arenas and stadiums in the world.
