FBC Carthage E-News
June 1, 2021
Welcome to Summer 2021,
The Memorial Day Block Party on Sunday was one
of the best Block Parties we have ever hosted.
The turnout was great. The food
was delicious. The weather was perfect. I appreciate all those who helped in the
set-up, food preparation, serving, and meeting the many community friends who
attended. The Youth parents and Youth
were a great blessing to see you attend and enjoy the event before headed to
bowling. It was a wonderful event!
The Youth and parents will have volleyball,
basketball, and food this Sunday evening, June 6 at Defeated Creek Park. Meet at the church parking lot at 5:00 PM and
ride the bus to the park. Invite friends
to join you for this event.
One week and counting to Vacation
Bible School, June 7-11! We will have
classes for ages 4 thru 12th Grade. We
will begin each night in the Sanctuary at 6:00 PM and dismiss from the
Sanctuary at 8:30 PM. Please make your
plans to bring your children and invite their friends for this important
week. There are still opportunities to serve
in VBS as we share the gospel with children and youth in our community. See Jan Trainham or Tina Gantenbein for more
information or simply come next Monday at 6:00 PM.
The 2021 Summer shirts are
in the Connection Point for you to pick-up and wear throughout the year. The theme verse is Romans 5:1, “We have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
As people comment on your shirt, be ready to share with them the hope
and peace we have in Christ.
The message Sunday was on
the Stewardship of Legacy. Here is a
great article and a Legacy Planning Guide from the Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association. It may be of help in building
a godly legacy. Check it out:

First Baptist Church
Carthage is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention as we cooperate with over
40,000 churches in missions and ministry.
The SBC is having a very important Annual Meeting June 13-16 in
Nashville, Tennessee and we are encouraged to pray and fast for the meeting. There are several issues that will be dealt
with and the Messengers need Godly wisdom as they make decisions. Here is a passionate plea from Bro. J.D.

The RightNow Media video
series of the week is “Shaken” by Tim Tebow.
Most of us have been on the receiving end
of rejection, a broken dream, or heartbreak. And while this is not an easy space
to go through, when we are grounded in the truth, we can endure the tough
times.
In this powerful series, Heisman Trophy winner
Tim Tebow passionately shares glimpses of his journey staying grounded in the
face of disappointment, criticism, and intense media scrutiny. Following an
exceptional college football career with the Florida Gators and a promising
playoff run with the Denver Broncos, Tebow was traded to the New York Jets. He
was released after one season. In Shaken, Tebow talks
about what he's learned along the way, building confidence in his identity in
God, not the world. This moving series features practical wisdom from Scripture
and insights gained from others who have impacted Tebow in life-changing
ways. Though traveling hard roads is not easy, it's always
worth it!
