Good Morning,
I am thrilled to announce
the results of the vote on Paul Stouder as our new Associate Pastor. 101 votes were cast and he received 96 “YES”
votes for a 95% call. I talked to him
yesterday and he gave verbal acceptance of the call and the position. We will work on the details for the move and
start date this week and hopefully have the details to announce next
Sunday. Please be praying for Paul,
Maura, and baby Katie as they prepare for the move to Carthage. Pray for our church as we prepare to welcome
them into our congregation.
The August Business
Meeting will be held this Wednesday, August 18 at 6:30 PM. The Nominating Committee and Committee on
Committees have been working and will bring their first reports in this month’s
business meeting.
Wednesday Night Meals have
resumed and are being served from 5:00-6:00 PM each Wednesday evening.
AWANA Discipleship Classes
for Preschool, Children, and Youth will begin a new semester on Sunday, August 22 at 5:30 PM. There are still several opportunities to
serve in this important ministry. For
more information, contact Michael Collins or Bro. Tim Frank. All parents are encouraged to bring their
children for this exciting time of growing in faith and knowledge of
Jesus.
The Smith County Pregnancy
Help Center will have a Pool Party Fundraiser on Monday, August 23rd at the
Carthage City Pool! The fun is from 5PM until 7PM. Entrance is $1.00 per person
(ages 2 years and up.) There will be hot dogs, chips, and drinks available for
a donation of any amount. There will be organized
games and water safety information.
Bring your whole family for the fun.
