FBC Carthage E-News

June 28, 2021

Greetings from Cocoa Beach, Florida,

Fran and I are enjoying several days away on the beach in Cocoa Beach, Florida.  I appreciate Bro. Brad Tackett and Chris Young filling in for me while I am away.  We will be back in Carthage for Thursday night’s booth at the Smith County Fair and services this Sunday.

You are invited and encouraged to be a part of the Smith County Fair Ministry Booth this week, July 1-3 from 5:30-8:00 PM.  This year we are focusing all our efforts on Thursday-Saturday nights at the fair.  We will have sno-cones, water, photo booth, and a Bible give-a-way each of the nights.  This is a great time to reach-out to the community.  Plan to wear your mission t-shirt each night you attend the fair, especially when you are working in the booth.  For those working the fair booth, the church will cover the cost of your admission if you will come through the back gate and let Deborah Weaver know you are serving that night.  The Sunday School classes will be the hosts of the booth:

Thursday    Jim Broyles and Samantha Upchurch

          Friday         Jan Trainham

          Saturday     Brad Tackett

This Sunday, July 4 will be our special service celebrating freedom in the 10 AM service and a church-wide cook-out at 5:00PM.  The cook-out will be at the Defeated Creek Campground Pavilion.  The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs and the fixings.  Everyone is asked to bring a side dish, chip, or desert to share together.  You may also want to bring soft drinks and a camp chair.

Please be praying for Revival Services on July 17-20 with Pastor Elijah Wanje from Ridgeways Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya.  We will also have an emphasis to reach out to all our church members with encouragement and strength.

Children’s Church for 4 year olds through 1st grade will begin on Sunday, July 4 during the 10 AM morning service.  Children’s Church will meet in the Preschool area.

The church Patriotic Day Cookout will be Sunday, July 4 at 5:00 PM at the Defeated Creek Campground Pavilion.  Bring a dish to go with hamburgers and hotdogs.

This Sunday morning, July 4 at 8:30 AM, we will host the Defeated Creek Campground service at the Campground pavilion.

This is a big week as we serve the Lord in our community.  Wear your Summer mission shirt and be ready to share the hope and peace you have in Jesus.   Be blessed as you are a blessing to others,

Bro. Tim
