Welcome to Holy Week 2021!
Around the world, Christians will be celebrating
this week as the final week of Jesus’ ministry before His crucifixion. This week is referred to as Holy Week and
reflects the events of each day leading up to the cross and the empty
tomb. This is the most special, somber,
and celebrated week in the Christian calendar.
Here is a good article giving the events of this holy week in the life
of Jesus: https://www.learnreligions.com/holy-week-timeline-700618
We look forward to the great day of celebration
of Jesus’ Crucifixion and Resurrection.
I encourage you to invite your family and friends to join you for the
special Good Friday Service on April 2 at 6:00 PM and the Easter Celebration on
Sunday, April 4 at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. They
will come with you if you will invite them.
The entire offering this Sunday will be given to
the North American Mission Board to support hundreds of missionaries throughout
the United States and Canada. Please
give generously for the gospel of Jesus to be shared to the least reached
people groups in North America.
As a special treat, we will have photo spots set
up for Easter pictures with family and friends.
This is always a lot of fun and a good way to remember special days.
We will not have AWANA or the evening service on
Sunday, April 2.
FBC Carthage will be leading the Campground
Service this Sunday, April 2 at Defeated Creek Campground Pavilion. The service will begin at 8:30 AM and Bro
Brad Tackett will be bringing the message.
This weekly campground ministry is coordinated by the New Salem Baptist
Association.
Be praying for all those affected by the weekend
storms and flooding. If you hear of
those needing help moving, cleaning, or other needs please contact the church
office or see Bro. Tim.
We welcome Gamble Gibbs and Will Sleeper as they
came forward during the service making their Profession of Faith and wishing to
follow the Lord in Believer’s Baptism. Please
pray for them as they are baptized this Easter Sunday.
A special Thank You to those who have helped
clean the church building. If you would
like to be a part of this cleaning ministry, contact the church office or see
Bro. Tim.

Easter Experience” brings the passion, and resurrection of Jesus to life
through dramatic storytelling and challenging teaching done in a highly
cinematic style. Through these in-depth teachings, your small group will grow
spiritually, bonding with each other as well as with the eternal message of
Easter. The six, 20-minute videos would
be a good Holy Week reflection leading up to Easter Sunday. Check out the first session: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/1276?episode=1
