FBC Carthage E-News for October 5, 2020

 FBC Carthage E-News

October 5, 2020

Good Morning,

During the month of October we are praying specifically for our nation.  There are a few of the   “31 Days of Prayer for My Nation” booklets left if you haven’t picked one up.  This emphasis will encourage and challenge each one to pray for the country and elected leaders each day.  The most important and impacting action we can take is to call upon the Almighty God to bring a spiritual awakening and revival to our land.  During October, let’s talk less and pray more for the issues facing our nation.

As we pray, we pray for President Trump and the First Lady as they continue to battle the Corona virus.  Pray for a speedy recovery and strength for our President.

Wednesday night Student Ministry Re-Launch is in full swing as the 7-12 grade students are urged to join Bro. Matt at the FBC Carthage Student Ministry Facebook page at 6:30 PM.  In-person youth group meetings will begin Pass the word and invite your friends to join the Student Ministry Re-Launch!

As we relaunch the Wednesday Student Ministry, we will also be evaluating and planning toward offering Wednesday night meals for individuals and families to eat in the Christian Life Center before the evening activities.  To help us in planning, if you would be interested in coming to eat Wednesday night meals from 5-6 PM,  text the word EAT to 1-615-395-6161 or call the church office at (615) 735-1929.

The Women on Mission group will meet next Monday, October 12 at 6:30 PM in the Christian Life Center.  All ladies are invited to attend as they put together Christmas Backpacks to distribute in the TBMB Appalachian Ministry in East Tennessee.

The Women on Mission will be sponsoring the Soul Food Café luncheon this Thursday, October 8 at Tennessee Tech Baptist Collegiate Ministry.  The menu is a little different with the COVID-19 guidelines, but our smiles and care for the students will be the same.  Pray for the college and university students as they receive their education in the midst of this pandemic.

During this regathering time, we will continue to provide access to the text giving option.  You simply text the word GIVE to 1-(615) 492-8661.  The first time you use the electronic giving, you will enter your giving information.  After that, you simply enter the offering you wish to make.

Thank you for your gifts to the Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions.  There are many mission points throughout our state that are benefited by this offering.  The work on 14 college campuses is one of those areas of work.  Here is the video we saw in the service yesterday, highlighting the work of the BCM:  https://vimeo.com/438680953

You can still be a part of this offering by texting the keyword GOLDEN to our online giving platform:  1-(615) 492-8661.

Trunk or Treat will be Wednesday, October 28 and we will be doing things a little differently.  Due to COVID-19 we will do a drive through Trunk of Treat down Fite Avenue.  Candy and a sack supper will be distributed in this drive-through event.  If you would like to help with this fun event contact Matt or Elizabeth Davis.  You can also bring bags of candy to the Connection Point to donate for the children.

We are using several texting platforms to help with giving and communication during this pandemic.  For giving, text GIVE to 615.492.8661.  For communication, text WELCOME to 615.395.6161.

The RightNow Video Series of the Week is entitled, “What the Women Saw.”    Through these six videos, you will discover who Jesus is through the unique perspective of women in the Bible. As you study the lives of Mary, Martha, Mary Magdalene and others, you will learn from their faith and failures and be reminded that Jesus cared for and valued the women he was surrounded by. He equipped them, listened to them, walked with them, healed them, and empowered them. And he does the same for you now.  Check out the trailer at:  www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/388292?episode=Trailer

Remember, you have to sign up to be able to view the resources at RightNow Video.  Simply go to: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.

This video resource and all the videos are provided free of charge as a gift from FBC Carthage.
