FBC Carthage E-News
August 31, 2020
Good Morning,
Schools across Smith County begin full-time
today as all students return to classes all five days. Please pray for the students, teachers, and
all workers as they start full-time.
There are many concerns about COVID-19 and social distancing. May our prayer for the students and teachers
be as stated in 3 John 2, 4, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all
things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. I have no greater joy than to hear that my
children walk in truth.”
Several Sunday School classes
are making plans to regather in their classrooms next Sunday, September 6 at
10:05 AM. For those not yet ready to regather, we will
continue to meet in the Christian Life Center with the hope to see all the
classes regather soon. Make your plans to
be back in Sunday School this Sunday from 10:05-10:35 AM.
A new semester of
GriefShare will begin this Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM. This year we will be meeting in the Christian
Life Center with social distancing around the tables. GriefShare is a grief support group that
shares truths from God’s word to help during the sorrow and grief of losing a
loved one. The group support and sharing
is a helpful part of the sessions as we encourage and walk together through the
pain and loss. You don’t have to make
the journey of grief alone. Join us on
September 1 and invite a friend or family member to come with you.
Thank you to Jerry Wilmore
and Jerimiah Wilkerson for the extra effort of our Media Team yesterday in
getting the morning service broadcast on Facebook for the Digital Church
Community. It took several attempts to
find the right solution. The church’s DTC
internet connection was out and we had to go to Plan B.
Thank you to Brad Tackett
for leading the Defeated Creek Campground Service yesterday. In the midst of rain and following a stormy
weekend, there were 4 in attendance.
Continue to pray for Bro.
Matt and his family as they finish their quarantine and recover from
COVID-19. Pray for others in our church
and community as they recover from the virus.
Pray for Judge Michael
Collins as he is sworn in this afternoon as the new Circuit Court Judge. He will have responsibilities in Wilson,
Macon, Trousdale, Jackson, and Smith County.
I remind you of the
special time of prayer this Tuesday at 7:00 AM in the Sanctuary. In
this season of uncertainty, everyone is encouraged to pray each day in your
personal and family devotions, as well as come together corporately and pray together
with others for the needs we are facing.
During this regathering time, we will continue
to provide access to the text giving option.
You simply text the word GIVE to 1-(615) 492-8661. The first time you use the electronic giving,
you will enter your giving information.
After that, you simply enter the offering you wish to make.
We are in need of help
with preparing meals for shut-ins on Wednesday night. Most teams meet around 3:00 PM to prepare the
meals and are finished by 5:30 PM. If
you would like to help once a month with a cooking team, contact the church
office at 615.735.1929 or see Bro. Tim Frank.
