Merry Christmas Week News from FBC Carthage

FBC Carthage E-News
December 23, 2019

Merry Christmas!

This is the week we have waited for all year.  Tuesday, December 24 will be our annual Christmas Eve Service at 5:00 PM.  This is always a very special service as we celebrate the Lord’s birth.  The service will include carols, special music, communion, candlelighting and a Christmas message.  We will also have baptism of Jimmy Savage as part of the service.  Invite family and friends to join you for this special service.  The dress is casual.  Come as you are and let’s celebrate together.

Thank you to the Sanctuary Choir as they led us in worship with the special Christmas presentation of the musical, Silent Night.  There is something about the songs of Christmas to help celebrate Jesus’ birth.

I also want to say “Thank You” to Bro. Matt Davis for the great sermon on Sunday night.  It is a blessing for me to hear Bro. Matt and share in his message.  He normally has opportunity to preach when I am away and I always hear good reports from the messages.   It blessed me to sit in the congregation and say “Amen” to the preaching of the Word of God.

A personal word of appreciation and thanks for the Christmas cards, gifts, and Christmas gift from the church.  It is a pleasure to serve with you at First Baptist Church Carthage.  God bless you as you celebrate Christmas!

As we continue the Christmas Experience, the RightNow Media video of the week presents the miracle of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem.  Join Joseph and Mary as they question, “Is this God’s Plan?”  Welcome the Christ Child as He is laid in a manger for His bed.  Check it out:  https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/1279?episode=4

Remember, if you haven’t signed-up for RightNow Media you can do that right now.  Simply go to https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.
This video resource and all the videos are provided free of charge as a gift from FBC Carthage.

Thank you to all who have placed a lighted cross as part of your outdoor Christmas decoration.  Over 1,000 crosses illuminate our county.  Remember to be ready to give a strong witness to Jesus birth and death as people comment or ask you about the crosses.  Use this as an opportunity to point them to the true meaning of Christmas.  Jesus is the Savior who gave His life for us.  News Channel 17 did a story on the crosses.  Check it out at https://fox17.com/news/local/tennessee-couples-challenge-sparks-1000-crosses-being-added-to-christmas-decor

Please pray for the family of Paul Robinson who passed away on Saturday evening.  His funeral service is being planned for Friday, December 27 at Anthony Funeral Home in Hartsville.

Merry Christmas,
Bro. Tim
