FBC Carthage E-News
July 16, 2018
Good Morning,
It is good to be back in
the United States and in Carthage this morning.
The mission trip to Guatemala was a wonderful experience but I am always
glad to be back in the USA. There are
those who do not speak well of our nation but we are blessed to live in this
country and enjoy the freedoms and benefits that come. Every time I experience a new culture I am
amazed by the diversity of the people.
Guatemala was one of the most beautiful countries I have visited. Our mission effort was in the towns around
Lake Atitlan, primarily San Pedro and San Marcos. We were able to conduct three days of medical
clinics and saw 480 people. We were also
able to share stories of Jesus and His love in three schools. Several children prayed and committed their
lives to Christ. We also had two days of
home visits in San Marcos where a new church is looking to be started. Check out #nsabguat18 on Facebook for
pictures from the trip.
Pray for Brad and Melody
Tackett as they work with the First Baptist Church in Wolf Point, Montana. They are helping with VBS, Backyard Bible
Club, and replacing the church’s steeple.
I will also be joining them on Tuesday for a few days of missions.
Last night was a great
service of raising awareness of the drug issues we face in Smith County. We had about 50 people join in the discussion
and special movie documentary that shows the real answer to this epidemic is
through the Lord Jesus Christ. A special
thanks to Judge Michael Collins, Randy Wakefield, Barbara Kannapple, Suzanne
Angel, and others from our community who shared the ways we can be involved. We Live Streamed the service on Facebook so
you can watch the speakers on the church Facebook page. We cannot pretend there is no problem in our
community. It is time for Believers to
be part of the solution. Last night was
a great first step of awareness of the need.
The youth mission team
from First Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri will be with us in the service
on Sunday, July 22 after their week of missions in Chattanooga, Tennessee with
World Changers. They will share a brief
report from their trip in the service.
We are excited to have Daniel
and Tammy Shaw and son Eric come for membership to First Baptist Church in the
morning service.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
