Good Morning,
This week is collection
week for your Operation Christmas Child boxes to bring them by the Christian
Life Center or to the Connection Point this Sunday. Our
church goal is 325 boxes. The Women on
Missions, youth, and children will have a packing party on Wednesday, November
15 at 6:30 PM in the CLC. Everyone is
asked to join in this special effort and fill a box with the love of
Jesus. As you fill your box, remember to
pray for the child who will receive this special gift. You may also want to write a simple note to
the child and include your family picture.
Remember, no food, candy, or toothpaste are to be packed in the boxes this
year. Also, a donation of $9 per box is
needed to cover shipping costs. The
collection times this week to drop your boxes by the Christian Life Center are:
Monday-Tuesday 1-3PM
Wednesday-Saturday 11AM-3PM
Sunday 1-3PM
Next Monday 11/20 11AM-1PM
The collection for
Thanksgiving Food Boxes began this week in the Sunday School classes and will
conclude next Sunday, November 19. On Tuesday,
November 21 we will pack the boxes and deliver them on Wednesday morning,
November 22. Everyone is invited to be a
part of the packing and delivery. Also,
if you know of families who would be blessed by a Thanksgiving box please
contact the church office at 615 735-1929.
This Sunday, November 19
will be our annual Thanksgiving Dinner in the Chriostian Life Center at 5:30
PM. Several ladies are preparing the
turkey and dressing; everyone else is asked to bring salads, vegetables, and
deserts. This is always a delicious and
festive occasion as we enjoy the good food and warm fellowship with our church
family. This is also a great opportunity
to invite a friend to join us for a great evening of thanksgiving.
We had a good meeting
yesterday as we discussed various security and emergency plan issues. Following the recent church shootings, there
will be several new security measures put in place in the coming weeks. If you would like to be a part of this effort
please see Bro. Tim or call the church office.
We will need persons willing to serve on a rotating basis as outside
greeters before and during the morning service each week. Our next meeting will be Sunday, December 3
at 3:00 PM with Mark LeMay, church security specialist with the Tennessee
Baptist Mission Board. Everyone is
welcome to attend.
Please pray for the
Summit, the annual meeting of the Tennessee Baptist Convention this week at
First Baptist Church, Hendersonville.
This is always an inspirational week filled with great preaching,
uplifting singing, and stirring reports from the various ministries and mission
efforts of Tennessee Baptists. We have four elected messengers who will be
attending the sessions. You can watch
any and all of the sessions online this week at: https://livestream.com/tnbaptist. The live stream begins today with the Pastor’s
Conference at 1:00 PM. Listen in for a
blessing. Maybe you will see one of our
messengers in the crowd.
I want to say a special
word of appreciation for our AWANA workers as yesterday completed the Fall
Semester of AWANA. This is a powerful
ministry of our church as the boys and girls gather each week for scripture
memory and Bible study. There is also a
lot of fun as they have gym time and always enjoy a delicious supper meal. The winter/spring semester will begin January
7.
Remember the PRAY 4:29
emphasis as we pray Acts 4:29 each day at 4:29 AM and/or PM. Prayer makes a
difference as we ask the Lord for boldness to share His word with others around
us.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
