Happy
Spring Break,
This is a special week as the local schools are out for Spring
Break. Many families are traveling and
enjoying their time together. Vacations and
breaks are a good time to relax and unwind from the pressures of everyday
life. After a busy time of ministry, Jesus
said to His disciples in Mark 6:31-32 “And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest
a while.” For
there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat
by themselves.” Even the Lord and
His followers needed some time to themselves.
However, as you read the rest of that passage, their time away didn’t go
as expected. The people of the area came
to them and before they knew it, 5,000 men, plus women and children had
gathered around them, listening to Jesus preach, and eventually needing
something to eat. We know this story as
the “Feeding of the 5,000.” Time away
is good and needed by everyone but this account reminds us as followers of
Jesus that we should always be ready to minister, care, and share with those in
need, regardless of where we are in location.
Enjoy this week os Spring Break and be watchful for opportunities to do
what Jesus would do.
There are several
special Youth events this week during Spring Break. Bro. Matt will have the
full details on Wednesday night during Youth Bible Study at 6:30 PM. The special activities are:
·
Flag Football on Thursday, March 30 at 2:00 PM
·
Youth Movie Night on Friday, March 31 at 5:00 PM
Remember to be praying,
preparing, and inviting our friends and family to our Spring Revival, May 7-10
with Bro. Kewon Foster as he preaches the Word and the Nesbitt Family as they
lead in worship. There is something
exciting in preparing for a revival as we anticipate God moving in a new and
fresh way in our lives and in our church.
Let us all prepare our own hearts and minds for this season of reviving
and revitalization. May our pray be,
“Lord send revival, and let it begin in me.”
Have you picked up your
copy of the Pictorial Directory? They
are in and may be picked up at the church office during the week or in the
Connection Point on Sundays. The
directory is free if you had your picture made.
If you didn’t have your picture
in the directory and would like one, we have purchased several extra and they
are $5
Have
a blessed week,
Bro.
Tim
