FBC Carthage E-News
April 8, 2013
Good morning,
We had our first planning meeting for Montana and
this year’s trip looks like an exciting opportunity for ministry and
missions. We have been in partnership
with the First Baptist Church in Poplar, Montana for many years. They are without a Pastor at the present time
and our trip will be an encouragement to the members as they continue to serve
the children, youth, and adults on the reservation. The mission trip to Montana will be June 23
through July 3. Check your calendar and
pray about God using you this year to touch lives in Poplar, Montana. I have listed below specific information about
the trip.
Speaking of missions, this week, April 11-23, Zeke
and Layne Tomaselli will travel to Hilo, Hawaii to learn more about starting Ohana
Church on the island. Pray for them as
they seek housing for themselves, their team, and the new church. Here is a link to their special blog post
requesting prayer for this week:
We emphasize missions at FBC Carthage because of the
millions, the billions, of people around the world who do not know Jesus as
their Lord and Savior. They have one
hope, that someone tells them about Jesus before they die. May their desperate need and Jesus’ Great
Commission be the driving forces which move us to share the great news about
Jesus.
During the month of April, we will be exploring the
appearances of Jesus after the Resurrection as found in the gospels. May we be focused this month on the truth the
Jesus is Alive! In Romans 10:9 we see
the power of the Resurrection to save: “that if you confess with your mouth
the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved.”
May we live this week in the excitement, wonder, and joy of
the message the angel spoke to the women at Jesus’ empty tomb, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not
here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He
is risen from the dead.” (Matthew 28:5-7)
Let us go quickly and tell that He is risen!
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
