FBC Carthage E-News for April 1, 2013

FBC Carthage E-News
April 1, 2013

Good Morning,

This past weekend was a great blessing to me and to all those who attended the special services.  The Good Friday Service was very moving as we followed the journey of Jesus to the cross.  The Sunday School class participation and the choir leading in worship in each of the Stations of the Cross helped focus the service on Jesus and lead up to the observance of the Lord’s Supper.  Thanks to all those who participated and especially to Kandy Smith for her leadership in this special evening.

The Easter Celebration Service was powerful as we shared the hope and victory we have “Because He Lives.”  Wow!  The choir and musicians did a fantastic job in leading us in worship.  The attendance was overflowing with 26 people watching the service in the overflow room.  Thanks to Jeff Hall for his expertise in getting the camera and technical parts worked out.

As part of our Easter Celebration Service, we gave our entire offering to reaching North America for Christ through the Annie Armstrong Offering.  This offering goes directly to fund the work of our 5000 missionaries who serve in the United States and Canada.  This special offering on Sunday was $11,076.00 which brings the total amount given this year to $13,993.00!!!!!!!

We had six teams go out on Easter Sunday afternoon to our Homebound members to have a special service with them in their homes and to share the Lord’s Supper together.  It is a blessing to share with these who have been a vital part of our church and are no longer able to come for the services.

One last service to report on from yesterday, the Defeated Creek Campground service was a little damp and rainy but it was a blessing to share with those who came, the hope of Jesus’ resurrection.  We had a total of three people, two dogs, and a squirrel.

Have a blessed week as you live in the joy that Jesus is alive!
Bro. Tim
