FBC Carthage E-News
April 22, 2013
Good Morning,
We had a great service
last night as we celebrated with AWANA as they completed another year of training
and Bible memorization. It was a joy to watch
as four of the older children professed their faith publicly in Jesus through
baptism. Those baptized were: Christopher Spurlock, MacKenzie Bane,
Adrianna Rider, and Kirsty Martin. I
received a note from Jeff later in the evening that another of the children had
talked with him about salvation and had prayed to receive Jesus into his
life. We will be following up with this
young man as well as these others.
Please pray that the Spirit will continue to move in our children,
teens, and adults as He draws them to Jesus.
Only the Holy Spirit can bring conviction of sin, righteousness, and
judgment through which we realize our need for the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Speaking of salvation and
children, Vacation Bible School is coming quickly, June 10-14 and there are
still opportunities for you to serve as an assistant/helper in the
classes. There is a place for everyone
to serve in VBS. We will have a training
and planning meeting on Sunday, May 5 at 4:30 PM in the Christian Life Center
for all workers, assistants, and helpers.
Our list of graduates is
growing. Thank you to those who
contacted the office with the additional graduates, especially those graduating
in December 2012. Graduation for the county high schools will be
Friday, May 10 for Gordonsville High School and May 11 for Smith County High
School. Listed below is the updated list of graduates from FBC Carthage. If you know of others graduating this spring,
please contact the church office at 735-1929 and let us know. We will have a time of recognition for the
graduates in the morning services on Sunday, May 5, followed by a church-wide
luncheon in their honor at 12:00 Noon.
