FBC Carthage E-News
September 17, 2012
Good Morning,
With the official beginning of the fall season this week (Saturday, September 22) there is an excitement in the air. The weather is changing and the holidays are quickly approaching. This is a great time of the year to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for all our blessings.
We had a great day yesterday at FBC Carthage as we began the “More Life” series of lessons and visitation. We will meet each Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM to learn how to share our faith and then go into the community and make visits. Sharing your faith with people who need Jesus is worth the risk. Join us this Sunday in the CLC.
The sign-ups are coming in quickly for the Operation Christmas Child Rally on Saturday, September 29 at 6:30. We will meet at the Ag Center for a dinner provided by Timberloft Restaurant and then hear a moving testimony from Oksana Nelson, a young lady who received a Christmas Box as an orphan child in Russia. If you have not signed up, call the church office at 735-1929 or e-mail Melody Tackett wom2644@gmail.com today. Today the registration stands at 160 people!
Continue to pray for the Personnel Committee as we receive resumes for the Minister to Youth and Minister of Music positions. If you know of a person who might be interested in serving in either of these positions, please have them send a resume to the church office. The mailing address is FBC Carthage, 409 Main Street N, Carthage, TN 37030.
I also remind you to pray for the mission trip to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut on October 11-15. I will be joining Alec Sunrise and Alex Tambour as we hold a Camp Meeting/Revival with the Inuit people. Check out the Visitor’s Page from the Cambridge Bay web site: http://www.cambridgebay.ca/visitingus/visitors.htm
With the election coming up quickly in November, now is the time to earnestly seek the Lord’s guidance and pray for our nation. Each election is important and calls us to prayer. This Presidential election is especially crucial as we faithfully bring the United States before our Heavenly Father. We need a spiritual awakening and revival in our land. The scriptures tells how that comes about in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Pray makes a difference in the heart and action of God. Let us be faithful to do what He has called us to do in these important days.
Have a blessed week as you serve the Lord,
Bro. Tim
Here’s the news:

Here is her responses to the WOM questions:
What is you favorite memory of FBC Carthage?
“Baptism and Lord’s Supper in the same service October 14, 2001”
In describing her call to missions and the change that has brought in her life:
“Took much prayer and time to surrender. Learned obedience. Denying myself and carrying the cross wherever I go.”
Specific prayer requests:
o For people she works with to see Christ in her.
o Being ready for God to make that happen!
