FBC Carthage E-News for December 19, 2011

FBC Carthage E-News

December 19, 2011

Merry Christmas,

It is hard to imagine that this is Christmas week. The anticipation and celebration has pointed to this week and to Christmas Sunday. As you and your family gather for great meals and the exchanging of gifts, remember to keep the focus on Jesus and His birth. Sing some carols, read the Christmas story (Matthew 1-2; Luke 1-2); and share what Christmas means to you.

A special thank you goes to all who worked long and hard to set-up and prepare for the Christmas Celebration service at the high school. It is always a blessing to be able to join together for one combined service at Christmas and Easter.

Our annual Christmas Eve Service will be held this Saturday at 5:30 PM in the Sanctuary. This reflective service will focus on Jesus through carols, communion, and candle lighting. Bring your family to this remembrance Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection.

On Christmas Sunday we will have one service at 10:00 AM in the church sanctuary. Take an hour out of your Christmas morning to join together to worship the new born King.

As your Pastor, let me take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. It is an honor to serve with you at FBC Carthage. This has been a great year of missions and ministry. I am looking forward to the New Year, 2012 and our emphasis on “The Year of Compassion.” Have a wonderful week and a joyous celebration of the Lord’s birth. It is all about Jesus.

Bro. Tim
