FBC Carthage E-News for October 24, 2011

FBC Carthage E-News

October 24, 2011

Good Morning,

I am writing early this morning in preparation for my lunch visit with our students at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This year’s College Road Trip has been extended over several weeks due to schedules and conflicts. In fact, my trip to Vol State will be moved to next Tuesday, November 1. I appreciate our college students and feel these visits can be a way we stay in touch with them during their college years.

The New Salem Association of Baptist annual meeting went well yesterday. It is exciting to hear all we are doing together with the other churches in the Association. We also had several guests from the Tennessee Baptist Convention who shared their reports of their work in the state for Christ.

The focus for the next several weeks will be on our Fall Revival with Bro. Jimmy Arms, November 6-9. This week we will have Home Prayer Groups in various areas of the county praying for the revival, for Bro. Jimmy, and for the lost and unchurched. The Home Prayer Groups are organized through the Sunday School classes. If you are not in a Sunday School class, I encourage you to look at the list below and attend one of the prayer groups near you:

Monday, October 24 Brad Tackett’s Class and Janet Bailey’s Class
Meet at Brad and Melody Tackett’s home
6:30 PM 740 Jackson Avenue

Tuesday, October 25 Jim Broyles’ Class
Meet at Ray and Sharon Raymond’s home
6:30 PM 134 Lock Seven Road

Thursday, October 27 Charlie Daigre’s class
Meet at A.J. Sharenberger’s Office
5:30 PM Main Street, next to McDonald’s

Rhonda Ethridge’s Class
Meet at Deborah Bane’s home
7:30 PM 53 County House Circle

We will have several times of visitation for the revival. These times will focus on unchurched and inactive members. We will be inviting them to join us for the special services. Saturday, November 5, we will meet at 10:00 AM in the Christian Life Center. In addition, we will go out each afternoon during the revival week from 2:0-4:00 PM. This would be a great time to stop by and visit Sunday School members that have been absent, friends for whom you have been praying, and others you have on your heart who need the Lord Jesus Christ.

One question for you today, would it help you and your family attend the revival services for the church to provide a supper meal on Monday and Tuesday, as well as, Wednesday night? Please click on this brief, one question survey and let us know:
