FBC Carthage E-News for September 26, 2011

FBC Carthage E-News

September 26, 2011

Good morning,

The On Mission Celebration is in full swing here at FBC Carthage. We had a great Mission Fair on Saturday with approximately 130 people in attendance. Two of our children won First Place in the On Mission Poster Contest for their age division. Reece Wilkerson won in the Kindergarten and below division. Eva Etheridge won first place in the 6-12 year old division.

Three sessions remain for this special week of services:

• Monday, September 26 6:00 PM Dinner with the Missionary
There are still five spaces available for our supper together at the Walton Hotel at 6:00 PM with Randy Poole, missionary with the Mississippi River Ministry in Tennessee. Call the church office today and let us know you can attend. If you can not make the supper you can join us around 6:45 PM at the Walton for the mission’s presentation. We are praying for opportunities to serve directly in this ministry with Randy during 2012. It is our desire that mission teams, Sunday School classes, and individuals will have opportunity to be a part of this ministry and mission in the coming year.

• Tuesday, September 27 6:30 PM The Strategic Importance of Prayer
For the past year we have desired to grow in our prayer times together. Don Pierson is the Prayer Strategist with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and he will be sharing with us the importance of prayer and leading us to pray. Don has preached at FBC Carthage several times in the past and we are looking forward to this service with him.

• Wednesday, September 28 6:30 PM Jerri Younkman, Missionary to Mexico
The evening will begin with supper at 5:00 PM. Jerri Younkman will be sharing with everyone at 6:30 PM of her work with the International Mission Board in Mexico.

• In addition to the nightly services, there will be luncheons with the missionaries at different churches at 11:30 AM. You are invited to attend each of these special events:
Monday Hickman Baptist Church
Tuesday Peyton’s Creek Baptist Church
Wednesday Brush Creek Baptist Church

Have a blessed week as we celebrate missions.
Bro. Tim
