THEY SIT AND WATCH
Matthew 27: 32 - 36
As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. They came to a place called Golgatha (which means The Place of the Skull). There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it. When they had cruicified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there.
At one time we all were of the world, and our lifestyle gave testimony to that fact. Our Lord came to save us out of that world and change that lifestyle. But that world knew Him not and did these horrible things to Him. And while these things were being done to Him, the world just watched!
Verse 36 says, "And sitting down they watched Him there." A survey once revealed that at least nine people are watching you at any given time, and you don't even know it. Now if you are in Christ through His sufferings and people in the world are watching you, what are they seeing? Are you bearing the cross Jesus gave you to bear, or are you sitting and watching?
