FBC Carthage E-News for September 28, 2009

September 28, 2009
Good morning,

Yesterday was a fantastic day at FBC Carthage as we had the opportunity to have Pastor Elijah Wanje from the Ridgeways Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya. If you did not get to hear Pastor Wanje on Sunday you can listen to his message on the Media page of the church web site or click on http://sermon.net/fbccarthage. We are discussing and praying through a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya in 2010 to work with Pastor Wanje and his church.

Our newest Sunday School class had a great start Sunday. Charlie and Penny Daigre began a new adult co-ed class as a result of the continued growth in Brad Tackett’s class. The Daigre’s class had 11 in attendance and the Tackett’s class had 21. This provides room in both classes to reach more people for Bible study, ministry and fellowship. In addition, the combined attendance was six more than the past two weeks. Congratulations to both classes.

During the Wednesday night service, we are studying the Lord’s Prayer and the model Jesus gave for our prayers. This week the passage is Luke 11:2 as Jesus prays, “Hallowed be Your name.” Family night supper begins at 5:30 PM and the service at 6:30 PM. Youth Bible Study and Children’s missions groups & choir also meet at 6:30 PM. Wednesday night is special for the whole family.

The only additional news for this week is that we are planning to make a new Pictorial Directory of all members and regular attendees in October. Olan Mills will be the company taking the family portraits and producing the Church Directory. Our photography dates are scheduled for October 23-24 and October 26-27. Sign-up sheets for dates and times will be available this next Sunday, October 4. Every family photographed will receive a directory and a free 8x10 portrait. The will be no obligation to purchase additional portraits but families will be given the opportunity. Portraits ordered will be back in plenty of time to give as Christmas gifts.

Have a blessed week.

Bro. Tim
