FBC Carthage E-News
September 8, 2008
Good Morning,
Let’s Power-Up. Power Up your Sunday School is our emphasis during the month of September. Every member is urged to be in Sunday School each week. I have a listing of Sunday School classes at the end of this e-news. If you are not in Sunday School this Sunday will be the time to start. The focus will be on the power of connection. Sunday School is the primary organization we have to establish and build connections among people. Sunday School is where we know each other, care for each other and study the Bible together.
This week we are praying daily by name for lost and unchurched friends, family and neighbors. There is power in prayer and as we commit to pray I believe we will see God work in many lives for His glory and their salvation. As you pray keep in mind these words of Jesus on the power of prayer:
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
It is a joy to welcome five new members to First Baptist Church from Sunday. We welcome Ron and Sharon Delvin and Amy, Rachel and Shelbie Layman as a part of the family at First Baptist.
Smith County High School was the Cool School last week on Channel 4 News. Click on this link to see the excitement:

Have a blessed week and remember to pray this week for the people on your list.
Bro. Tim
