FBC Carthage E-News
April 28, 2014
Good Morning,
We are reminded to be
praying today for those devastated by the storms that have brought much damage
and injury overnight and more are predicted.
It makes me reflect on the message from yesterday and the peace that we
can have in the midst of the storms of life.
That peace is found only through our faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ. In this world everything we look
to for safety and security can fail and we are left in the debris. Only in Jesus do we find complete safety and
security. He is our peace in the midst
of the storms.
Several have commented on
the video testimony we showed yesterday of Nick Vujicic and his strong faith
and remarkable story. Here is the video
for you to watch it again and share it with others who need a word of faith and
courage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl58qufXfYk
Nick’s story has continued
on since that interview and he is now married.
Here are a couple additional videos that will bring a smile and a tear:
A special thank you to the
Children’s Choir and their leaders for a great service last night of worship
and missions. The children always add an
excitement to the service as they sing for the glory of God.
It was also a wonderful
blessing to hear last night the report from the Mission Montana team and their
work in Poplar, Montana earlier in the month.
I always enjoy hearing the report from those who have just made their
first mission trip.
This Sunday, May 4 will be
our 2014 Graduate Recognition in the morning services and our church-wide
potluck luncheon in honor of the graduates at 12:00 Noon. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a
covered dish to share in the luncheon as we talk to the graduates, have them
share their plans, and present them with a special gift from the church.
Listed below are the
graduates we have. If you know of others
graduating from high school or college, please contact the church office as
soon as possible. Our graduates are:
High School Graduates
Brianna Gregory
Brandon Harris
Matthew Nesbitt
Brandon Scholtens
Betsy Trainham
Haley Wilmore
College/University Graduates
Josh Lynn, University of Tennessee
Pray for our graduates and
all our students as they finish up this year of school. This is an important week for the students as
they take the T-Cap tests. Pray for the
students and teachers in this important and highly stressful week.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
