FBC Carthage E-News
February 21, 2022
President’s Day is a
holiday for many today. Schools, banks,
and other businesses are closed. It is a
day to remember the Presidents who have served before, especially George
Washington and Abraham Lincoln. It is
also a good day to pray for our present President, Joe Biden. Pray for divine wisdom and direction. Pray for him as our President, regardless of
your political thoughts. Our nation
desperately needs Godly leaders, starting with the President.
Be sure and check out the
newly designed church website, www.fbccarthage.com. This is our first re-design of
the website in 12 years. It will contain
basically the same information in a fresh, new look for a new generation. Take a moment right now to check it out: www.fbccarthage.com
This Saturday, February 26
will be a Work Day at FBC Carthage from 9:00 AM – 12 Noon. We will be cleaning, de-cluttering, and
sprucing up the building and grounds. If
you have ministry items in the various storage rooms, be sure and be here to
clean and straighten your areas.
All persons interested in
being a part of the Sanctuary Choir are asked to meet this next Sunday,
February 27 at 11:00 AM, immediately following the service in the wing near the
piano. We are excited to see the choir
ministry grow as they are a very important part of the Sunday morning worship
service.
I am very pleased to
announce the hiring of a new Director of the Pregnancy Help Center of Smith
County. Martha Holladay has been
selected to serve in this position.
Please pray for Martha as she begins her work on Monday, February 28. Also, pray for Alicia Hoffman as she trains
Martha and completes a great 9+ years as our PHC Director.
We will have a Deacon Ordination Service on
March 13 at 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary to ordain Grant Denney, Joe Vining, and Jerimiah
Wilkerson as deacons of First Baptist Church Carthage. An Ordination Council of all ordained men
will meet at 2:00 PM that Sunday to question the candidates and a reception
held immediately following the service. Please
pray for these three men and their families.
Attention Men:
The Smith County Men’s Conference will be held March
18 and 19 at the Ag Center. We will have
a wild game dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday. Both sessions will have inspirational
speakers and special music. Door prizes
will be given away from local businesses.
Invite a friend to attend with you.
More information in coming weeks.
Be watching for the re-start
of our weekly Youth Group meetings on Wednesday evenings. More details coming.

The RightNow Media Video
series of the week is “The 7 Challenges Men Encounter.” Daily it's getting more challenging to
be a man. Our present culture is redefining manhood and confusing men in their
pursuit of Biblical manhood. But how will you respond? What will you say and do
when the world demands a response? Discover how to respond by rejecting
passivity, accepting responsibility, leading courageously, loving unconditionally,
living with integrity, serving humbly, and investing eternally. Let others see
masculinity and manhood through the lens of Christ in your life with these
seven characteristics and become a better man, husband, father, and leader. Check out the trailer: https://app.rightnowmedia.org/en/player/video/371860?session=371872

Pray for Associate Pastor
Paul Stouder as he recovers from sickness.
We missed him yesterday in the services.
Live in 2022 like this
will be the year you see Jesus.
Have a blessed week,
