FBC Carthage E-News for November 18, 2013

FBC Carthage E-News
November 18, 2013

Good Morning,

This is the week we are collecting the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes in the Christian Life Center. Churches in our area will be bringing hundreds of packed boxes to send to children around the globe. You still have time to pack a box and bring it by this week to be included in this massive Christmas effort. Volunteers are in the Christian Life Center this week to receive your boxes. Let’s all be a part of sharing the good news of Jesus’ birth to the children of the world.

In addition to Operation Christmas Child, we are collecting gifts for the Lighthouse Christmas Parties and the Help Center Toyland.

Our AWANA program is also having a gift giving during their Christmas party on December 1 and need gifts for the children. There are many ways to get into the spirit of Christmas through giving to children in need.

This Sunday, November 24 is our annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 5:30 PM in the Christian Life Center. The church will provide the turkey, dressing, rolls and drinks. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish salad, vegetable, and/or desert. This is always a great time of fellowship and sharing a meal together.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, the Sunday School classes are collecting money for Thanksgiving Boxes for the needy of our community. These boxes will be delivered next week, just before Thanksgiving. We are also receiving names and addresses of those needing a box of food.

This is the season of giving and thinking of the needs of others. As you consider all you have to be thankful for, determine ways you can reach out and be a blessing to others during the holidays. It may be through an organized gift or food distribution or it may be to a family you know personally who has needs this year. Don’t miss this opportunity to minister and care for others.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
