40 Days of Easter - April 4, 2011

The New Deal
Scripture: Matthew 26:26-30

Jesus brings a new relationship, a new deal, a new covenant to us. He offers up His body and gives His life to cover our sins and then offers up His grace. He asks us to accept Him, believing that His death pays our spiritual debt and makes us holy. He asks us to receive His grace. He has paid such a high price and suffered so much.

Jesus tried to prepare His disciples, yet they did not completely understand. Do we understand what a loving God we have and what a loving Son He has? Do we understand what God asks in return? We have a choice: heaven or hell. Jesus gave His life for us. We now have the new deal, the new covenant. The Lord's Supper is our representation today of the God's covenant with us.

Are we holding up our end of the new deal? Are you thankful for the new deal?

Prayer: Thank You for sending Your Son. Thank You for the Lord's Supper to remind us of Your commitment and Your love. Thanks for Your grace. May we live each day so that it would be pleasing to You. Amen.
