40 Days of Easter - March 31, 2011

THE PLOT TO KILL JESUS

Matthew 26:1-5

Focal Verse

Matthew 26:2 "You know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified."

Jesus was reminding the disciples that in just two days His life would be over. He would be betrayed by one of them and crucified, which is the worst form of execution known to man. Did the disciples listen? Do we listen when God tells us how things are going to happen? Or do we try to do things "our way" and dig ourselves into more trouble? Do we disappoint (betray) God when we do something that we are not supposed to do? Or maybe it is the sin of  "omission" when we know we are supposed to take responsibility and stand up for Jesus, but we choose to let somebody else take care of it.

Which disciple would you be at the feast of the Passover?
