40 Days of Easter 2011 Devotional
40 Days of Easter - March 30, 2011 The Final Judgment Matthew 25: 31-46 In the scripture passages listed above, Jesus tells about the Final Judgment. He explains how the heavenly Father will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep being those who are His children. And the goats are those He never knew. In the passage, Jesus said that we are to be focused on those around us who are in need as though they were Christ himself. Focal Verse - Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" How many times during the day do we ignore or overlook those who are in need? We live in a world full of needs. But the greatest need goes beyond the physical. The greatest need is to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. How will we choose to let others know of His love and mercy towards them? Dear Heavenly Father - May my heart and ears always be open and my eyes focused on those I encounter who are in need. May I be willing to openingly and unashamedly share the love of Jesus and what that love has done for me. Guide my steps, my words, my thoughts and actions throughout each day. May my life be a reflection of Your love and compassion at all times. Amen
