WHO IS THIS
Matthew 21:1-11
Focal Verse
Matthew 21:10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
As the week began in Jerusalem, there was a sense of excitement and wonder. A great crowd had gathered, waving palm branches, and shouting praise to God. The people were shouting praise to Jesus and proclaiming Him as the "One who comes in the name of the Lord!" They were proclaiming Him as the Messiah. The scripture says the whole city, all the people in the city, were asking one question, "Who is this?"
Two thousand years later, no greater question has ever been asked. No greater answer has ever begged to be known. In fact, your destiny rests in the answer. Your future rests in the answer. Your eternal life rests in the answer. Who you profess Jesus to be will change who you are. It will have a life changing effect. Think carefully. Answer wisely. Profess proudly.
Over the next forty days, various people from First Baptist Church Carthage will share the answer to this question. They will take their thoughts from the Gospel of Matthew and focus the daily devotionals on the week of Jesus' life leading up to His crucifixion and resurrection. In the scripture passages you will find the answer. In fact, it is my desire that everyone come to the same profession as the soldier at the foot of Jesus' cross who exclaimed, "Truly this was the Son of God!"
How do you answer the world's most important question, "Who is Jesus?"
With whom have you shared the answer?
Jesus, You are the Son of God!
