FBC Carthage E-News for March 20, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News
March 20, 2017

Happy First Day of Spring,

Today is the official first day of Spring, even though we had had spring-like weather for a couple of months.  It is a blessed time of year as the grass begins to grow, the trees bud and leaf out and the flowers all begin to bloom.  All of a sudden everything turns green and full of life.  It is a beautiful time in Tennessee.

During these next six weeks, we will be praying, preparing, and inviting our friends and family to our Spring Revival, May 7-10 with Bro. Kewon Foster as he preaches the Word and the Nesbitt Family as they lead in worship.  There is something exciting in preparing for a revival as wee anticipate God moving in a new and fresh way in our lives and in our church.  Let us all prepare our own hearts and minds for this season of reviving and revitalization.  May our pray be, “Lord send revival, and let it begin in me.”

To hear a message by Kewon Foster at Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville, go to:  https://vimeo.com/142790070

The Pictorial Directories are in and may be picked up at the church office during the week or in the Connection Point on Sundays.  The directory is free if you had your picture made.  If  you didn’t have your picture in the directory and would like one, we have purchased several extra and they are $5.  Keep your directory handy as you put names together with faces.  Also, there are addresses and phone numbers in the back to help you stay in touch with friends at church.

Several have commented on how much they enjoyed the video at the close of the service.  Here is its link if you would like to share it with a friend:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZe5y2D60YU&feature=youtu.be

Another classic video you would enjoy by the Skit Guys is called “God’s Masterpiece.”  Check it out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QCkBL2DfVg

Thank you to Bill Gruenwald, President of the Tennessee Baptist Foundation and Robin Moore, a Carthage attorney for a helpful and informative Estate Planning Workshop after the morning service.  Thank you also to everyone who attended, especially the ladies for preparing the food.  This is the perfect week to get those estate plans in order, whether it is a will, a power of attorney, or creating a trust.  Leave a godly legacy for your family by taking care of these final preparations today.

One very helpful suggestion from the estate planning luncheon that I encourage everyone to do and it is fairly simple, write down your information on your banking, retirement, investments,  passwords to online accounts and social media, and the location of important things like your lockbox key,  your will, your property deed, etc.  Give that information to your spouse, your children, or whomever you have to take care of your estate.  Do not assume they would know where to find your important information.

Yesterday also began a new series on Sunday nights on Heaven.  We will explore what the Bible says about the wonders and blessings of the place Jesus is preparing for those who believe in Him as Lord and Savior.  The Sunday evening services begin each week at 6:00 PM.

It was a blessing to have Matthew Madewell come forward yesterday on a rededication of his life to Christ.  Be praying for Matthew this week.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
