FBC Carthage E-News for June 16, 2014

FBC Carthage E-News
June 16, 2014

Good Morning,

Today begins a week of Centri-Kid Camp for eight of our children plus Bro. Jeff Hall and our Summer Intern Anna Maxwell.  The camp is located at Campbellsville College in Campbellsville, KY.  This will be an important week in the children’s lives, one that prayerfully will make an eternal difference.  Pray for the children and workers this week at camp.

Last week’s Vacation Bible School was a great week of discovery, decision and defending the faith.  We had 134 children and around 50 adult workers join us for the  week.  We had 11 children meet with us to talk more about trusting in Jesus as their Savior and Lord.  Two of these children, Hayden Bush and Ean Jones came forward in the services yesterday to profess their faith and share with the church that they have trusted in Jesus.  We will follow-up with them for baptism and with the other children to make the commitment to Jesus.

Thank you to all the workers in Vacation Bible School last week.  VBS is a huge undertaking involving one of our largest groups of workers.  It takes a lot of work for Vacation Bible School to be successful.  Thank you to each one who was a part of the VBS Team 2014.

During VBS the children gave offerings each evening for the mission work iat First Baptist Church in Poplar, Montana.  The specific need is to repair the FBC Poplar bus for picking up children each Sunday and Wednesday.  The pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters added up to $630.  This past Sunday, the adults in the services were challenged to give in response to the children’s great VBS offering.  This offering brought in an additional amount of $735.51 for a total offering to send to FBC Poplar, Montana of $1,365.51!  Thanks for your help as we encourage our ministry partners in Montana to “Roll that Bus!”

I would like all teachers and workers in Vacation Bible School give us feedback and share observations that can help us improve VBS in coming years.  We tried a couple of “new” ideas this year and are interested in your input.  You can copy these questions and place them in an email with your thoughts.  Email the evaluations to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
