Signs of the End
Matthew 24: 3-14
Focal Verse: Matthew 24:13 ?But he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
In today's world, we are witnessing the destruction of homes, lives, nations, and futures. The chaos seems endless. We cannot turn on the television, read a newspaper, or scan the internet without being bombarded with the news of devastation that is happening all around us. It is a time of uneasiness. The safeguards into which we have invested our time and energies are no longer safe. So now what? Could this be the beginning of the end of time?
Jesus told his disciples that no matter what was happening in the world, they were not to worry, not to run and hide, and not to allow themselves to be deceived by the false prophets of their time. And guess what? His answer is still the same for us today. We are not to worry. We are not to run and hide. And we are not to listen to the false teachings of those who would lead us astray. Jesus said we are to stand firm. The words of an old hymn come to mind: "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus' name."
Prayer: Dear God, during times of chaos and uncertainty, may my faith and hope remain firm in Jesus' name. Amen.
